I Was Moved!

As you may imagine, our Fun Is Good Team​ gets to interact with many fascinating organizations that are doing some amazingly positive things across the country. I feel so blessed to be just a small part of their world.  Allow me to tell a story about one of our recent presentations.  A few weeks ago, we spoke to over 300 faculty and staff who focus on teaching and serving at-risk high school students throughout the state of Minnesota. These are people who, on a daily basis, deal with the challenges of working with kids that aren’t always able to make it in a traditional school environment. 

​My business partner, Mike Veeck​, couldn’t help but express sincere gratitude to these teachers for not only having a life-changing impact on the kids, but for their parents as well. As some of you know, Mike’s daughter, Rebecca, began to go blind at a young age. Through his ​family's ​experience, Mike reminded these teachers that their work goes so far beyond the student with a challenge or disability. The impact they have on the kids is felt by the parents and extended family by influencing the child in areas they simply couldn’t. The impact these teachers have is so far-reaching! Being a part of that session reminded me of how fortunate I am to see these great stories play out and to be able to share our stories with some amazing people. If we can inspire just a few people to be a little more caring, then we too can make a positive difference. We may never know the real impact we have on others - and that's OK, but it sure has energized me to want to give more! A lot of people at the session​ were moved during this presentation. . . ​especially​ me.
